RIC (Regional Industry Co-ordination)department at NIFT Bengaluru,is responsible for Industry interaction and creation of a forum between alumni, companies and students. The department majorly caters to On/off-campus placement for students, their internships and job opportunities for alumni as well. Furthermore, RIC provides an opportunity to the students for interacting with various eminent speakers, be it motivational, vocational or experience sharing talks. Mr. Ganesh Subramaniam, Head-New Initiatives Myntra, Ms. Uma Prajapati (Founder of Upasana, Auroville), Ms. Deepa Mahesh (Soft Skill Trainee), to name a few visited the centre and addressed the students with their area of exposure.
Through the untiring efforts andregular follow up with companies and alumni, a total of 506 vacancies were generated during the campus placements 2016 for the NIFT Bengaluru centre, alone. As the campus placements at NIFT are centralized, this year it was held in 7 centers starting from Mumbai, followed by Delhi, Bangalore, Gandhinagar, Chennai, Hyderabad and Kolkata. In 2016,NIFT Bengaluru held its campus placement from 29th of April to 3rd of May. Overall 73 companies registered for placements at NIFT Bengaluru. 86% of the registered companies turned up for placement with a total of 284 vacancies. Out of which 122 candidates were selected from the campus placement. The highest salary was offered by Flont.com with a pay package of 6 lacs per annum, followed by Future Lifestyle, Voonik Technologies Pvt. Ltd. and Urban Ladder offering 5 lacs per annum. The average salary offered for the placed candidates is 4 lacs per annum.
