The membership of the Resource Centre is open to the corporate members, professionals, self-employed, students, faculty of other educational institutions besides the students and the faculty of NIFT. Membership of RC enables a member to avail of the reference, circulation, forecast, reprographic and other listed services.

Registration for membership

Following categories can register for membership on payment of fees indicated below:

NIFT Alumni (diploma & degree holders only)

  • Security deposit                                                                       Rs.5000.00**
  • Annual Fee                                                                               Rs.3000.00

<An alumnus of NIFT will submit a copy of his/her diploma/degree at the time of registration>

Other Academic Institutions

  • Security deposit                                                                            Rs.10,000.00**
  • Annual Fee (Individual Faculty)                                                    Rs.3,000.00
  • Annual Fee (Individual Student)                                                   Rs.2,500.00

<Membership is granted to a limited number of students & faculty of listed institutions only. Membership to students is granted for the duration of the academic session only>

Industry

  • Security Deposit                                                                      Rs.10,000.00**
  • Security Deposit (more than 5 borrowers’ cards)             Rs. 2,000.00**additional per card          
  • Annual Fee                                                                                Rs.5,000.00
  • Annual Fee (for more than 2 borrowers’ Cards)               Rs. 2,000.00 per card

< The application of the firm should be signed by an authorized signatory of the firm with seal of the office. Minimum two borrowers’ cards with two access cards will be issued to the firm only. Membership cards will be handed over only on submission of a letter of authorization from the firm. All cards are transferable. All dealings will be with the authorized signatory of the firm only. The firm will be responsible for all borrowed items.>

Individual

Reference

  • Rs.1500.00 – Six months
  • Rs. 3000.00 – One Year

No borrowing facility available in this category

** Refund of Security deposit.

For refund of security deposit download the application form or collect it from RC Circulation Counter. If a member fails to return an overdue book within 180 days from the due date, three times the cost of the borrowed book and over due fines will be deducted from the security deposit.

Fees for Special Services

Forecast Service

A member can avail of annual forecast membership only after registering as a member in any of the above categories.

* Photocopying charges are subject to variations.

Mode of payment

Payment of fees only in cash or demand draft drawn in favour of NIFT. A member, except an Industry member, will submit two passport size photographs (three photographs, if the member opts for transferable forecast membership) along with duly filled application form and bank receipt. No photographs are required for Industry membership. One access card will be issued to each member that he/she is required to carry whenever he/she visits RC. Members who pay for borrowing facilities will also get bar-coded borrowers cards. Forecast cards will be issued to all those who opt for forecast service.
