Skill Design and Development Training Program for the Department of Women Empowerment, Government of Rajasthan under the "I am Shakti" Scheme

In 2023-24, two training projects, each costing 1.76 lakh, were completed by NIFT Jodhpur and sponsored by the Department of Women Empowerment, Government of Rajasthan. The objective of this initiative is to enhance the skills of local rural women, enabling them to earn a livelihood by learning and improving their abilities in stitching and pattern making. The program aims to empower women by providing knowledge in design development, garment construction, fabric knowledge, and fashion forecasting.

Each trainee receives a stipend of 1000 INR, along with a garment and pattern-making kit, and a certificate upon completion. The training includes hands-on experience in pattern making, garment construction, and textile design, conducted in labs by experienced faculty members.

 

Advanced Training Program on Garment Construction, Surface Embellishment, and Print Design

An "Advanced Training Program on Garment Construction, Surface Embellishment, and Print Design" is being organized by NIFT Jodhpur for CCS Agricultural University, Hisar, Haryana, spanning 10 days. The objective of this program is to upgrade students' knowledge in the design process, pattern making, garment construction, surface embellishment, and print development. The project cost is 5.30 lakh.

 

Skill Improvement Training in Traditional Embroidery and Applique for Pakistani Migrant Women Artisans of UJAS Organization

The project, "Skill Improvement Training in Traditional Embroidery and Applique for Pakistani Migrant Women Artisans of Jodhpur and nearby places with UJAS Organization," is being organized by NIFT Jodhpur in collaboration with the Universal Just Action Society (UJAS) NGO, Jodhpur, Rajasthan. The training aims to provide the necessary knowledge and practice to develop and enhance traditional embroidery and applique skills, as well as improve relevant soft and elementary design skills for Pakistani migrant women artisans affiliated with UJAS. The program is designed for groups of 25 artisans per session, with a total of nine consecutive training sessions planned for Rs 90,000 for each training.
