Mr. Satya Prakash is an Associate Professor in the Department of Fashion and Lifestyle Accessories at the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), Hyderabad, with over 17 years of experience in design education, research, academic administration, and industry engagement. His expertise includes jewellery design, couture and costume jewellery, precious and smart jewellery, fashion accessories, CAD, contemporary manufacturing, design detailing, product development, prototyping, design sketching, and traditional crafts.

Since joining NIFT in 2008, he has taught diverse undergraduate courses and contributed to curriculum development, consultancy, sponsored research, and interdisciplinary projects. As Campus Project Coordinator (CPC) for the USTTAD Project, he made significant contributions to craft development by organizing capacity-building workshops for the traditional Wooden Cutlery Craft of Udayagiri, Nellore (Andhra Pradesh), supporting artisan skill enhancement and design intervention.

He has held key administrative positions, including Cluster Initiative Coordinator, Centre Coordinator of the Fashion and Lifestyle Accessories Department, and currently serves as Unit In-charge (Projects), leading consultancy assignments, sponsored research, institutional initiatives, and industry collaborations.

He has successfully completed the requirements for the Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) at Madhyanchal Professional University, Bhopal, and is awaiting the formal award notification. His research focuses on traditional crafts, design innovation, sustainable product development, intellectual property, and industry–academia collaboration
