The Glorious Tradition of Painted and Printed Textiles of the Coromandel Coast: A Tribute from Kalakshetra offers insights into the evolution of Kalamkari, a name that replaced the vernacular Vraathapani amid changing geo-political influences. It highlights Kalakshetra’s role in preserving natural dyeing practices and the craft’s essence, while paying rich homage to the Coromandel Coast, the historic home of Kalamkari.
