Prof. GHS Prasad is a Professor with FMS Department of NIFT, Hyderabad currently on deputation to NIFT Jodhpur it's Director since 1st October 2021. He joined NIFT, Hyderabad in June 2000, was CC of FMS Department for nine years, Chairperson of FMS for more than 3 years and Joint Director of NIFT Hyderabad for about 3 years. He has more than four years of executive industry experience with Shahi Export House before joining NIFT.

He was a key member of Indo US academic project on 21st century retail challenges in India and USA and visited prominent US universities, Funded by USIEF in association with Iowa State University, Oklahoma State University and University of North Texas (2017-18), Chairperson of International Research Conference on Fashion, Retail and Management (ICFRM), REFLECTIONS, January 2014. Conducted 'National Apparel Summit' 2003, inaugurated by the then CM of AP Shri N Chandra Babu Naidu and participated captains of Indian Apparel Industry. Conducted Many Seminars, Symposiums and Case learning workshops etc.

His Teaching interest includes Global Marketing, Merchandising, Retail Management, Design Thinking for Business Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Strategic Management.
