Dr. Pramod Kumar is an associate professor and center coordinator in the Department of Fashion Design at the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), Panchkula. With over 23 years of industry experience and 17 years of academic experience, he specializes in apparel manufacturing, knitting technology, fashion merchandising, and sustainable fashion. Before joining NIFT, he worked with leading international apparel brands, including GAP, United Colors of Benetton, Mango, NEXT, and FCUK.

His research focuses on sustainable fashion, multifunctional apparel, zero-waste design, children's wear, and knitted textiles. He earned his Ph.D. in Design from Banasthali Vidyapith and has published research in reputed journals while presenting at national and international conferences, including IFFTI.

Dr. Kumar actively mentors students, promotes industry–academia collaboration, and contributes to curriculum development, institutional outreach, and innovation in fashion education.
