Student Support

NIFT encourages a healthy balance between academic commitments and physical and emotional well-being. Students have access to on-campus medical consultation, health check-ups and emergency medical transport. Gymnasiums, sports facilities and wellness programmes further support healthy living across campuses.

University life presents new opportunities as well as personal and academic challenges. The Counselling Cell provides free and confidential psychological support through individual consultations and peer support initiatives. Professional counsellors assist students in managing stress, resolving personal concerns and developing coping strategies that support emotional well-being and academic success.

The Faculty Mentoring Programme pairs each student with a faculty mentor from their department. Mentors provide academic guidance, assist with coursework, elective selection and career planning, and offer research and industry perspectives through regular interactions. The programme supports students in their academic development and professional preparation.

The Student Assistantship Programme (SAP) is a work-study initiative that enables eligible students requiring financial assistance to undertake part-time assignments within the Institute while gaining practical experience. Coordinated through the Student Development Activity Clubs (SDAC), the programme supports experiential learning by engaging students in academic, administrative, research, publication, library, workshop, event, and other institutional activities.

Eligible students demonstrating financial need may apply through their respective campuses via the Student Development Activity Clubs (SDAC). Selection is made in accordance with the approved SAP policy, campus requirements, and the availability of assistantship positions.
