Dr. Saurabh Garg is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Textile Design at NIFT Panchkula, with more than 17 years of experience in academia and industry. His expertise includes Textile Science, Textile Chemical Processes, Textile Quality Assurance, Weaving, Natural Dyeing, and Eco-printing. He holds a PhD from The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, Vadodara, Gujarat, with research focused on computer-aided colour measurement, matching, and compatibility of dyes for compound shade production using natural dyes. He served as Course Coordinator for Textile Design from 2016 to 2020 and has been working as Cluster Initiative Coordinator since January 2025.

His research interests include eco-friendly textile processes, innovative dyeing and printing techniques, natural dyes, and the technical aspects of traditional textile processes. He has attended several national and international conferences and contributed to publications in his areas of specialization. He has been associated with various academic and textile-based projects and collaborations. Currently, he is working with Exim Bank on a training, skill development, and contemporary product design project for 40 Phulkari embroidery artisans in Patiala.

Dr. Garg actively engages with artisans and craft communities through academic outreach and cluster-based initiatives. His professional interests include sustainable textiles and craft development. He also enjoys meditation, which supports his focus and well-being.
