Dr. Jai Kishan Sambharia is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Fashion Technology at the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), Panchkula. He specializes in manufacturing engineering, apparel production, industrial engineering, and polymer material, with expertise in advanced machining processes, additive manufacturing, lean manufacturing, and product development. He has over nine years of teaching experience across engineering and fashion education, teaching undergraduate and postgraduate courses while integrating engineering principles with fashion technology. He received his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Malaviya National Institute of Technology, Jaipur, in 2018, and his M.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering from Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology, Surat, in 2012. His research focuses on advanced manufacturing processes, abrasive flow finishing, polymers, composite materials, sustainability, and digital technologies in fashion. He has published eleven international journal articles, fourteen international conference papers, two book chapters, and one patent. He completed an AICTE-TEQIP-funded research project and contributed to several industry consultancy and DST-supported projects involving innovative manufacturing solutions and product development. Dr. Jai Kishan Sambharia mentors undergraduate and postgraduate students and promotes industry–academia collaboration through research and internships. He conducts outreach seminars at reputed schools to create awareness about NIFT admissions and design education. He is a Life Member of the Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE). Outside academics, he enjoys badminton and cycling, reflecting his commitment to teamwork, discipline, and a healthy lifestyle, and actively participates in professional and community engagement activities.
