Amit Gupta is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Fashion Technology at the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), Panchkula. He has nearly 10 years of combined industry, teaching, and research experience, with expertise in apparel manufacturing, industrial engineering, and occupational safety. He is currently pursuing his Ph.D. at NIFT, focusing on occupational safety and health management practices among sewer maintenance workers, with special emphasis on personal protective equipment (PPE). His research interests include occupational safety and health, ergonomics, PPE design, apparel manufacturing, and workplace safety. He has received a research grant from WaterAid for his work on sanitation worker safety and has published research in peer-reviewed journals. He is committed to strengthening industry–academia collaboration and promoting research-driven solutions to real-world occupational safety challenges.
