Mr Anil Kumar Tirkey is a Professor of F&LA at NIFT Kangra and is also the CC of the Department. He has previously served as CC – Foundation Programme and CIC (Crafts). An alumnus of NIFT Gandhinagar (Accessory Design, 2004), following with a diverse experience in the Jewellery Industry for 4 years as a Designer, Merchandiser, and Product Development; in the Product design domain for 4 years in Lifestyle Products and furniture (Handcrafted in Leather, wood, and Metal), in Visual Merchandising, Window Displays and Branding, In-store Planning & layouts. He joined Design Academia in the Department of F&LA, NIFT Kangra in 2012.
His subject areas are Sketching & Rendering, Form Studies, Design Ideas for Future, Product Photography, Design Detailing, Design Projects, Product Packaging Design, Furniture Design, Adventure Accessories, Educational Accessories, Products for Wellness and Design & Society. He has contributed to various Projects of HP State initiatives (Volvo Bus Branding, Wall paintings for the 50th statehood of HP, Models of Chintpurni Temple) and Design and development for LBSNAA (Bags, cufflinks, and Tiepins).
Being inquisitive in nature, his academic and professional interests span the subject areas of Human Factors, Crafts, Sustainability and the role of Design in Society.
