Birendra Baliar Singh is an Assistant Professor of Fashion Communication (FC) Department and specializes in Audio Visual Communication and Public Relations & Advertising. He has overall 20 years of professional experience including 10 years of academic experience. He teaches the undergraduate and postgraduate courses and leads in Photography and Filmmaking, Communication, Advertising and Product & Fashion Styling. He has worked as Translator cum News Reader in All India Radio-AIR, New Delhi. He has been awarded for his short Documentaries on (UNICEF) theme. He joined NIFT Bhopal in 2022.

His research interest includes Indigenous Fashion, Sustainable Fashion, Tribal Fashion, Traditional Fashion portrayed through Odia Parallel Cinema. Other research works includes Parallel Cinema, Community Radio, Social Media, Corporate Stress, Tourism and Khadi. At present appeared the Viva-Voce for PHD program in Utkal University of Culture (UUC), Bhubaneswar, Odisha.
