Kamaljeet Singh serves as an assistant professor in the Department of Fashion Technology at NIFT Kangra, where he also held responsibilities as the unit in charge of the project and media coordinator. Holding a master's degree in fashion technology, he brings over 20 years of professional and academic experience to his role. His core expertise spans industrial engineering, apparel manufacturing, plant setup, and maintenance management. Drawing from six years of industry experience with Shahi Exports in India and Bangladesh, he teaches courses covering sewing product machinery, lean manufacturing, ergonomics, and garment construction.
His research focuses on lean management applications and technological advancements in apparel manufacturing, fields in which he regularly presents scholarly papers. With specialised technical skills in operation breakdown, Standard Allowed Minutes (SAM), productivity improvement, line balancing, and factory setup, he actively contributes to manufacturing innovations. He previously served as SDAC, CIDL, and Nodal Officer for France's ENSAIT and represented the institute in the Netherlands to establish international institutional partnerships.
Beyond teaching, Kamaljeet advocates an interactive learning approach to engage students effectively. He maintains active involvement in craft research, material exploration, and community outreach.
