Mr. P. Senthil Nathan is an Associate Professor in the Department of Leather Design at the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), Chennai, with over 21 years of teaching experience. He joined NIFT Chennai in 2005 and has also served in the Department of Fashion and Lifestyle Accessories and as Centre Coordinator for both departments. He holds a Master of Design (M.Des.) and specializes in Leather Garments and Product Design and Technology, pattern making, form development, 2D and 3D visualization, digital graphics, and photography. He has also completed a Digital Animation Specialist Programme.

His academic and professional interests focus on integrating design, technology, digital tools, and form development in leather product design and education. He has undertaken design projects for private and government organizations, developing practical and industry-oriented solutions. His teaching approach combines industry experience, project-based learning, and student-centred development.

He actively contributes to academic administration, curriculum development, mentoring, community service, and departmental coordination. His interests include Yoga, English and Tamil literature, Philosophy, Photography, Agriculture, emerging digital design technologies, visual communication, and innovative approaches to design education. Through his continued academic and professional engagement, he contributes to the creative, technical, and professional development of students and the wider design community.
