Mr. R. Prasanth Kolazhi is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Fashion Design at the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), where he has been serving since 2021. He is a fashion academician and industry professional with over 15 years of experience in fashion education and the fashion industry. Holding undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in Fashion, he specializes in value addition techniques, fashion styling, celebrity culture, material studies, and fashion basics. He is committed to integrating industry practices with academic learning to provide students with a holistic understanding of fashion design and its applications.

He has contributed to fashion education through curriculum development, industry-oriented teaching, and mentoring student graduation projects & Design Collection. Before joining NIFT, he served at the Institute of Fashion Technology Kerala (IFTK), Indian Institute of Fashion Technology (IIFT), Inter National Institute of Fashion Design (INIFD), and ALT Training College Bangalore. His association with Bangalore Fashion Week provided valuable industry exposure, where he collaborated with leading Indian Fashion designers, including Ritu Kumar, Arjun Khanna, Manoviraj Khosla, Archana Kochhar, and Rina Dhaka, strengthening his understanding of the fashion industry and runway production.

Beyond academics, Mr. Prasanth is passionate about fashion choreography and show direction. Under the mentorship of renowned fashion choreographer Sridhar, his association with Bangalore Fashion Week paved the way for directing and choreographing numerous runway shows across South India. He actively mentors students through industry projects, workshops, and fashion events, encouraging creativity, innovation, and professional excellence. His commitment to fashion education and industry engagement continues to bridge the gap between classroom learning and professional practice.
