Varanasi CampusVardaan Singhal is an Assistant Professor at the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), Varanasi, with expertise spanning communication design, accessory design, brand strategy, and visual communication. He holds a Bachelor of Design in Accessory Design from NIFT Patna and completed his Master’s in Fashion Management from NIFT Panchkula. His professional experience spans over three years of full-time practice, complemented by freelance projects and internships across consumer, lifestyle, fashion, FMCG, B2B, and creative industries. He has worked across graphic design, identity development, campaign design, exhibition communication, and creative strategy.
His research interests centre on visual communication, design strategy, consumer behaviour, emerging design practices, and the relationship between culture and branding. His professional practice includes developing the identity of Fox & Mandal, designing communication for NBC Bearings and Eternia Windows, contributing to an olfactory branding framework, and developing visual languages for consumer brands and campaigns. He also explores data-informed approaches to creative decision-making through tools such as Google Trends, advertising libraries, and sentiment analysis. .
Beyond teaching and professional practice, Vardaan maintains an active interest in Indian perfumery, fashion, material culture, and design forecasting. He explores sustainable design practices, including natural dyeing and agricultural-waste-based materials. He also engages with emerging designers and artists through interviews and creative collaborations, and is interested in mentoring students through research-led, industry-oriented design projects..
