Jyothi Siv Anand is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Textile Design at the National Institute of Fashion Technology , Kannur. With over 15 years of professional experience in textile design, design education, craft research, and industry engagement, she works at the intersection of traditional knowledge systems and contemporary design practice. Her expertise encompasses traditional textiles, print design, surface design, craft documentation, product diversification, and design-led innovation for artisan and handloom sectors. Her teaching integrates material exploration, sustainability, cultural narratives, and user-centred design, enabling students to develop contextually relevant and socially responsible design solutions.

Her research investigates how design intervention, material innovation, and product diversification can contribute to the sustainable revitalisation of traditional textile and craft ecosystems, with particular emphasis on Kerala's handloom heritage. She actively collaborates with craft enterprises and industry partners to develop research-informed design strategies that strengthen the cultural and economic sustainability of artisan communities. Her scholarly interests include design research, natural dyeing, interdisciplinary collaboration, and practice-led inquiry that connects academia, industry, and society.
