Kriti Srivastava is an educator, researcher, and responsible fashion advocate at NIFT Bengaluru, specialising in sustainable fashion, circularity, craft, culture, and design-led innovation. She teaches and mentors students in communication, innovation, entrepreneurship, and sustainable design practices. Her professional experience spans academia, fashion retail, design, and grassroots development. She previously served as Course Coordinator, Fashion Management Studies (CC-FMS), at NIFT Kangra from February 2022 to February 2025, contributing to academic administration, curriculum development, and industry engagement. Her research focuses on circular fashion systems, circular business models, second-hand fashion ecosystems, material reuse, and the sustainability of craft and textile practices. She has presented several research papers at national and international forums, including Yale University (2025), London College of Fashion (2025), IIT Delhi (2025), IIT Roorkee (2024), and NIFT Gandhinagar (2024). She contributed to the Sustainable Fashion Dictionary (2025), launched at Lakmé Fashion Week in association with FDCI. She is a member of the Craft IP Research Team at Creative Dignity and recommended Kinnauri jewellery for Geographical Indication (GI) protection in July 2025. Her research also examines shoddy yarn production, artisan economies, and craft intellectual property. Kriti's professional interests include artisan empowerment, cultural sustainability, responsible fashion, and community-led design practice. She has led the USTTAD project on Tibetan carpet weaving and developed training programmes for women in the informal sector in collaboration with SEWA Delhi. She represented the NIFT Kangra campus on DD Shimla on three occasions and participated in EKTA, a Ministry of Textiles event, in May 2025. She convened a national conference on handloom and handicrafts in 2022 and serves as Editor-in-Chief of Ismat: Nazraana-e-Aurat. She also assists Book-A-Table, a supper club connecting food, literature, and community.
