A biophile, bibliophile and ever a student, Maulshree is an aspiring educationist exploring the interconnectedness of the world around us and the sensorial dimensions of human experience. An Assistant Professor at NIFT Kangra, she graduated from NIFT Delhi and completed her Master of Research at the London College of Communication (UAL). She brings professional experience in retail design and branding and specializes in areas of systems thinking, design thinking, design research, sustainability and branding.

Her research, informed by an interest in the patterns that emerge through the interaction of people, places and practices, focuses on systemic shifts and interventions in India's design ecosystem, with particular interests in design pedagogy, Indian traditional knowledge systems, and knowledge exchange, sustainability and skill development in Indian crafts. She has collaborated with craft communities across Himachal Pradesh and worked with UNDP under the SECURE Himalaya project. She has presented and published research on craft and the Indian fashion industry, design as a systemic ecosystem, and temple economies and sustainability at national and international platforms. Her doctoral research at IIT Delhi extends her inquiry into design pedagogy, examining design education in India as a plural and inclusive ecosystem. She has contributed to curriculum restructuring at NIFT across departments and has previously handled various portfolios at NIFT Kangra. As the first Head of the Department of Design Space at NIFT Kangra, she helped establish the department.

The care and welfare of community animals is a cause close to her heart while a juxtaposition of paradoxes further define her - a mountain monk and avid traveller, a bohemian spirit with an eye for detail, and a fashion enthusiast who finds quiet joy in plants, books and dogs.
