Ms. Pratheepa Raj is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Fashion Design at NIFT Chennai, with over 21 years of professional experience, including Academia and Industry and specialises in innovative patterning, Apparel design development, luxury couture and bespoke fashion, Fashion history, and Inclusive Fashion. She holds a B.Des. in Fashion Design, BBA, MBA in International Business, and is a certified Gold Master in Transformational Reconstruction (TR) Techniques.

She teaches undergraduate and continuing education programmes, integrating industry collaborations with experiential learning through engaging, inclusive and transformative pedagogy. Her research focuses on creative pattern making, adaptive clothing and fashion pedagogy. She is a strong contributor to Fashion Design Curriculum development at NIFT and Authored Government high school bilingual fashion design textbooks for vocational courses.

She has been a Design Consultant for Craft projects, school uniforms and workwear, and a trusted Trainer for Industry experts. She has contributed to outreach activities like “Alpha Treditioners” Inclusive Fashion Show, “Rivolta alla moda” Fashion Photography Display at the 2nd Edition of Chennai Photo Biennale, Wearable Art Fashion Show for 2nd Edition of Madras Art Guild, and “Vasthra Virasat” Fashion Show for Khadi Mohotsav. She is passionate about fostering growth and success among aspiring fashion professionals.
