Priyadarshini Gopal is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Textile Design at the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), Hyderabad, with over 12 years of experience spanning academia and industry. Her expertise includes textile design, surface development, traditional Indian motifs, textile printing, craft practices, and contemporary textile design. She holds a Bachelor of Design in Fashion and Textiles from NIFT Hyderabad and an MA in Textile Design from Chelsea College of Art and Design, London. Her professional experience includes working as Senior Manager – Design & Marketing at Arvind Mills, where she developed forecast-based seasonal collections for international brands as well as textile fairs, and at Zeba India Pvt. Ltd., creating textile and furnishing designs for hospitality and institutional clients. She has also worked with the Development Commissioner (Handicrafts), contributing to craft development, artisan training, product development, and documentation across traditional crafts.

Her research interests focus on the intersection of technology, traditional crafts, sustainability, and contemporary textile design. Her academic contributions include research on heritage and technological integration in design curricula and the digitalisation of crafts. She co-edited Pramanik: Cherishing Legacy and contributed to the Miniature Painting Research Project.

Her professional interests include textile art, sustainable practices, and emerging textile technologies. Her textile art pieces were exhibited at the Affordable Art Fair, Battersea, London, in October 2014. She also completed specialised training in Microbial Dyeing at Calantha Biotech, Mumbai, in 2024.
