Shelly Jain Bandari is a faculty member specialising in Lingerie and Intimate Apparel, Trends and Forecast and Product Development in the Department of Knitwear Design. She brings extensive professional and academic experience in the apparel export and education management sectors, with expertise in lingerie, merchandising, sourcing, business development, stakeholder management, trend analysis, product development, costing, and people management. She holds a Master’s Degree in Knitwear Design & Technology from the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), New Delhi. Her professional experience spans diverse apparel categories, including Menswear, Womenswear, and Kidswear, and she has demonstrated expertise in managing both large- and small-volume businesses. Her academic and professional interests focus on lingerie and intimate apparel, product development, trend analysis, sourcing, merchandising, and industry-oriented design education. She brings industry knowledge and practical insights into her teaching, with a focus on developing students’ understanding of apparel products, market requirements, and professional practices. Her areas of interest also include the evolving intimate apparel industry, consumer trends, product innovation, costing, and the integration of industry practices into academic learning. She is passionate about mentoring and nurturing emerging fashion professionals and takes an active interest in connecting academic learning with industry requirements. Her professional interests include contemporary fashion trends, apparel product development, and the evolving lingerie and intimate apparel market.
