Mr. Praveen Srivastava is an assistant professor in the Department of Fashion and Lifestyle Accessories at the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), where he has been serving since August 2014. He has over 19 years of academic and teaching experience, with expertise spanning ergonomics, manufacturing processes, material science, technical drawing, production planning and control, prototyping, and model making. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in mechanical engineering. He completed his M.Tech. in Production Engineering (Petroleum) from Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology (RGIPT), Raebareli, and his B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering from the College of Agricultural Engineering and Technology, CSA University, Kanpur. Before joining NIFT, he served as an assistant professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Feroze Gandhi Institute of Engineering and Technology, Raebareli, from August 2007 to August 2014. His research interests lie at the intersection of technology, design, ergonomics, manufacturing, and production engineering, with a focus on integrating engineering principles into design and product development. His technical interests also include the application of software and tools such as IMEX (CMG), PanSystem, MATLAB, Sensor, Fekete, CAD/CAM, and AutoCAD. His academic achievements include the Pandit Krishna Bihari Bajpai Award (1999) conferred by the Government of Uttar Pradesh and the Institute Silver Medal (2010) for outstanding performance in the M.Tech. program at RGIPT under the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Government of India. Beyond teaching and research, Mr. Srivastava actively contributes to academic coordination, student mentoring, outreach, and institutional activities. His interests focus on connecting engineering, technology, ergonomics, and design through practical learning, prototyping, and interdisciplinary approaches.
