"Dr. Shruti Gupta is Assistant professor with the department of Textile Design and completed her doctoral research and masters from the department of Fabric and Apparel Science, Lady Irwin College, Delhi University. She has Qualified UGC-NET for Lectureship and JRF. Passion for textiles brought her to join NIFT in the year 2010. She has worked in the industry for 8 years before joining NIFT and has been an academician now for 15 years. She specializes in Textile knowledge & processes, Print Design, Craft studies, Elements of Design, Material Studies, Surface Techniques and Computer-Aided Designing. Her teaching philosophy of textile education provides opportunities for hands-on learning to the students where they can think critically and apply the latest concepts. She has several publications in the area of textiles and apparel in national and international journals of repute. She has received best paper award in 7th International Conference on CSR and Sustainable Development in Yogyakarta, Indonesia 2024 and in the National Symposium on “Threads of Heritage: Exploring Traditional Textiles and Natural Fibres in Shillong, Meghalaya. She has developed courses for educational boards such as CBSE, IGNOU and contributed as research paper reviewer for various Indian and international journals. "
