Sidharth Mallick is an Assistant Professor with expertise in Textile Design, Design Management, and Appreciation of Indian Art. He has over decades of academic and professional experience in design education and specializes in textile design, craft documentation, material culture, and heritage-based design practices. He is currently pursuing a PhD in Design at Banasthali Vidyapith, where his research examines the evolution of Muslin from its historical origins to its contemporary revival in Khadi, with emphasis on fibre, yarn, and weaving. He received a Bachelor of Design in Textile Design from NIFT Kolkata (2008), a Post Graduate Diploma in Packaging Technology from the Indian Institute of Packaging, Mumbai (2012), a Post Graduate Diploma in Appreciation of Indian Art from K.K. Sanskrit University (2014), a Master of Design Management from Jaipur National University (2017), and the Chitra Visarad qualification from Pracheen Kala Kendra (2024).

His research interests include textile heritage, Khadi and muslin, handloom clusters, sustainable textile practices, and traditional knowledge systems. He has published two papers in peer-reviewed journals and actively contributes to research, documentation, and academic discourse on Indian textiles and design education. He is committed to mentoring students and promoting interdisciplinary learning through research, academic collaborations, and outreach initiatives. His professional interests include weave based projects, Indian art and appreciation, craft revival, heritage documentation, and engagement with artisan communities to support the preservation and promotion of India's textile traditions.
