Dr. Vivek Jangra is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Fashion Design with over 15 years of combined experience in the apparel industry and academia. He holds a B.Tech. in Textile Technology and a Master’s degree in Fashion Technology from NIFT, New Delhi, and has completed his Ph.D. in Technical Textiles. His areas of expertise include smart and wearable textiles, wearable technology, functional and performance clothing, textile science, apparel production, pattern making, garment construction, fashion merchandising, knitwear, and computer-aided design. His research focuses on the development of smart, functional, and wearable textile technologies, with particular emphasis on wearable thermoelectric textiles and performance-oriented clothing. He has published several research papers in reputed SCI/SCIE-indexed international journals in the field of technical textiles. His academic and research work contributes to the integration of advanced textile materials, emerging technologies, and innovative applications for functional and intelligent clothing. He has served as a Project Implementation Team (PIT) member for Khadi training projects organized on campus. Dr. Jangra is actively involved in teaching, student mentoring, curriculum development, and academic activities related to the department. He takes a keen interest in interdisciplinary research, innovation, and the application of emerging technologies in textiles and apparel, while supporting industry-relevant learning and encouraging students to explore innovative approaches to fashion, textiles, wearable technology, and sustainable product development.
