Ruhi Munjial is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Fashion Design at the National Institute of Fashion Technology, Panchkula. She has handled the portfolio of Campus International and Domestic Linkages from 2023 - 2026. Her areas of expertise include design fundamentals, creative thinking, design process and range development, fashion styling, fashion illustration, Artificial Intelligence for fashion design. She brings vast experience in the fashion retail industry, where she led product design and development functions, complemented by academic and entrepreneurial experience in the field. Her research interests span the intersection of design and industry practice, with a particular focus on the emerging applications of Artificial Intelligence in fashion. She is currently pursuing her PhD in design from Symbiosis International (Deemed) University, Pune, and her doctoral work continues to build on her professional experience in fashion product development. Through her teaching and research, she aims to bridge the gap between design education and industry requirements. She graduated from NIFT, Chennai as part of the 2003–07 batch. Beyond her academic role, she successfully ran a design-based startup, which was incubated and graduated from the Rural Technology Business Incubator at IIT Madras — an experience that continues to inform her entrepreneurial and industry-facing approach to design education.
