Dr. Wanrisa Bok Kharkongor is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Fashion and Lifestyle Accessory (F&LA) at the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), Shillong. She holds a Master of Design (M.Des.) and a Ph.D. in Design from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati. Her teaching and research interests include Form Studies, Design Processes, Lifestyle Accessory and Product Design, and User-Centric Design.
Prior to joining NIFT Shillong, Dr. Kharkongor served as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Art and Design at Vishwakarma University, Pune. During her postgraduate studies, she was selected as a participant and representative at the TED Mint workshop held in KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Sweden. Dr. Wanrisa’s keen interest in research is accredited to her publications in journals and proceedings at national and international conferences. At NIFT, she is involved in academic, research, and government sponsored projects, promoting interdisciplinary collaboration and research-driven design education.
Her willingness to acquire new skills, adapt to emerging technologies, and embrace continuous learning reflects her strong motivation for professional growth and her potential to excel in the field of design.
