Mr. Amitava Chowdhury is an Associate Professor in Department of Fashion Management Studies, Raebareli. He is a M.B.A. from university of Poona & specializes in Marketing Management. Passion for teaching and research brought him to join NIFT in the year 2005. He has worked in the Industry for around 5 years before joining academics and currently has experience more than 22 years. He specializes in Marketing, Retail Business, E- Business, Consumer Behavior, Entrepreneurship Management etc. He is deeply involved in Academic and Administrative Management of the Institute and has served multiple portfolios. He was deeply involved in the setting up of the Varanasi Extension Centre. Currently he is the Joint Director of NIFT, Raebareli. His area of research interest are E- Commerce and Consumer Behaviour. He also takes a keen interst in the development of the handloom and handicraft sector.
