Raebareli CampusDr. Tulika Sahu is Assistant Professor and Centre Coordinator in the Department of Fashion Communication at the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), Raebareli. With over 19 years of teaching and industry experience, she specializes in Fashion, Street, Product, and Advertising photography, along with the History of Art, Architecture and Culture, Art, Design and Aesthetics, Visualization and Representation, and Visual Culture studies. She actively contributes to teaching, curriculum development, academic administration, and student mentoring.
Dr. Sahu holds a Ph.D. in Photography and is a two-time UGC-NET qualifier. She is the first woman in India to earn a Ph.D. in Photography, a distinction recognized by the Limca Book of Records and the India Book of Records. She received the Junior Research Fellowship from the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, and holds the Associateship of Sigma Academy of Photography. She has published and presented 24 research papers, serves as a reviewer for reputed journals and conferences, and has received more than 35 national and international awards in Photography field. Over 270 of her photographs have been exhibited in national and international exhibitions, and she has contributed to scholarly publications and books, including those published by HarperCollins.
Dr. Sahu actively engages in academic outreach as a resource person, jury member, examiner, and mentor for universities, government bodies, and cultural institutions. Through exhibitions, workshops, and collaborative initiatives, she continues to promote photography, visual communication, and design education while encouraging creative and interdisciplinary learning.
