Mr. Chakravarthy P is an Associate Professor in the Department of Fashion Technology at the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), Chennai. He specializes in pattern making, garment construction, apparel CAD, virtual sampling, and apparel production. He brings extensive academic and industry experience, combining over Fifteen years of teaching with more than seven years of professional practice in pattern making and CAD systems. He teaches CLO, Optitex, Lectra, and related apparel technologies, develops digital learning resources, and serves as Head ERP, IT In-charge, Webmaster, and ERP Unit In-charge, supporting institutional academic and technology initiatives.

His research interests include apparel CAD, virtual prototyping, digital pattern engineering, and technology-enabled fashion education. He contributes to e-content development using Optitex 3D for pattern making education under a Government of India initiative. His academic work emphasizes innovative teaching methodologies, industry-oriented learning, and the integration of advanced software into fashion technology curricula. His prior industry experience strengthens collaborations between academia and the apparel sector.

Beyond teaching and research, he actively supports skill development programmes, mentors students, and promotes technology adoption in fashion education. He values continuous learning, professional collaboration, and practical innovation, encouraging learners to combine creativity, technical competence, and industry readiness. He also supports institutional quality enhancement initiatives.
