Amit Kumar Chaudhary is an Assistant Professor in the Fashion Design Department at the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), Daman. He specialises in Fine Arts with expertise in drawing and illustration and has over seven years of teaching experience. He previously served as an Assistant Professor at NIFT Mumbai for three years and ten months, where he taught undergraduate and postgraduate students. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Visual Arts, a Master's degree in Visual Arts, and qualified the UGC-NET examination. His academic interests focus on creative thinking, visual communication, and illustration-based learning in design education.

His research examines the use of illustration in Indian government advertisements. He has published three papers in national journals and presented a research paper at IIT Bombay. He contributed to the NIFT Mumbai team that designed staff garments concept for India's New Sansad Bhawan, supervised the institute's establishment day graffiti project, and supported the G20 installation and creative space design at The Courtyard, Grand Hyatt Mumbai, organised by the Ministry of Textiles in 2023. He mentors students for internships, graduation projects, and design collections.

He actively participates in craft documentation visits and has undertaken eight educational field visits with students. Outside academia, he enjoys listening to classic Hindi songs and exploring different parts of India as a traveller.
