Dr Renjini G is an associate professor with the Department of Fashion Technology, specializing in garment production technology and product development. She teaches production planning and control, lean manufacturing, Industrial engineering, research methodology, statistics, and advanced patternmaking and construction to undergraduate and postgraduate students. She currently holds the additional post of Unit-Incharge Publications. As part of this role, she works as the associate editor of the NIFT Journal of Fashion. 

She joined NIFT in 2008, prior to which she has worked as a production planner and merchandiser in export-oriented garment manufacturing organizations. At NIFT she has previously handled roles in the capacity of Unit Incharge-Faculty Training, Orientation and Development, Unit Incharge-Alumni Affairs, and Link-Campus Academic Coordinator (Bengaluru Campus). 

Her doctoral research was in optimising the material selection for the requisite product features using the design of experiments. It involved extensive experimentation, testing of fabrics and fused composites, process control, and optimisation through statistical modelling. Her current research interest lies in the application of technology and data science in garment production and retail processes, product development, and manufacturing process improvement. Most of her work to date is published in various Scopus-indexed international journals.
Dr. Renjini has also worked on a number of training projects with various brands like Max Fashion, Landmark Group (hands-on training on advanced pattern making for experienced pattern making and sampling professionals), and Texport Industries (training on industrial engineering concepts for newly recruited IE personnel), to name a few. She has also handled sessions for professionals working at Tata Trent (sustainable supply chain), Linen Club (specialized sewing machine), Zivame (technical aspects of fabrics), and Modenik (apparel production). She is also part of the team working on the second phase of the prestigious INDIAsize project supported by the Ministry of Textiles. 
In her free time, she is an avid reader and an active gardener. She grows various varieties of orchids and loves carnatic music.
