Rishikant Kumar is a faculty member in the Department of Fashion Communication. He specializes in mass communication, audio-visual production, cinema studies, filmmaking, and media education. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. at SAGE University, Bhopal, with research focused on audio-visual design for small-screen media. He has over fifteen years of professional and academic experience in communication and media studies. He teaches undergraduate courses and actively engages in academic research, creative practice, and student mentoring. His areas of expertise include communication theory, film editing, radio production, audio-visual storytelling, and visual communication.

His research interests include audio-visual communication, cinema studies, film production, and emerging media. He actively contributes to research and creative projects that explore visual storytelling and contemporary media practices. He previously served as an Assistant Professor at the Central University of Haryana and the Central University of Jharkhand. He also held professional positions across the mass media, film, and fashion industries. The feature films and documentaries with which he was associated were screened at several national and international platforms.

Rishikant Kumar actively promotes interdisciplinary learning and experiential education through cinema and media. He mentors students in creative and research-based projects and encourages innovation in visual communication. He is a professional member of GRAFTII (Graduates of the Film and Television Institute of India).
