Mr. Ravi Prakash is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Fashion Design at NIFT Bhubaneswar, where he joined as an Assistant Professor in 2021. His teaching and professional expertise includes garment manufacturing, merchandising, retail, pattern making, sustainable product development, and the design and development of Indian apparel. He holds a B.Tech. in Electronics & Communication Engineering and a postgraduate qualification in Fashion Technology from NIFT Delhi. He has over 10 years of industry experience in product development, apparel production, industrial planning, industrial engineering, and quality control.

He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. focusing on “Sustainability Practices in the Indian Apparel Industry.” His research interests include sustainable apparel production, responsible manufacturing, Indian apparel, resource efficiency, product development, and the integration of sustainability principles into the apparel value chain. He has undertaken and contributed to various fashion show projects involving concept development, garment design, collection development, styling, production planning, and coordination.

Mr. Prakash actively engages in teaching, student mentoring, curriculum development, and industry-oriented academic initiatives. He focuses on creating practical and industry-relevant learning experiences. His professional interests include sustainable fashion, Indian apparel design, innovative product development, fashion shows, event coordination, and strengthening industry–academia collaboration.
