New Delhi CampusVishesh Azad is an Associate Professor of Fashion Media and specializes in Film Production, Digital Photography and Drone Journalism. He teaches undergraduate and postgraduate courses and leads research on the role of artificial intelligence in new media. His doctoral research examines paradigm shifts brought about by smart imaging technologies in visual storytelling and their socio-cultural impact on contemporary media ecosystems.
Vishesh graduated in English Literature from Kirori Mal College, University of Delhi and completed his Master’s in Mass Communication from the AJK Mass Communication Research Centre, Jamia Millia Islamia. He also received interdisciplinary training from the National School of Drama and the Film & Television Institute of India, which strengthened his engagement with artistic practice and academic inquiry. Vishesh has showcased his cinematic oeuvre through award winning films at prestigious festivals pan India.
With nearly two decades of professional and academic experience, Vishesh mentors documentary projects, fiction short films and fashion photography campaigns. He has previously served as Head of the Fashion Communication Department at NIFT Delhi from 2017 to 2023. Complementing his academic career, Vishesh brings over three decades of experience in dance choreography, integrating technology, media and performing arts across his teaching, research and creative practice.
