Associate Professor, Textile Design (BDes)
Dr. Ashutosh Kumar Sahi is an Associate Professor in the Department of Textile Design, NIFT, New Delhi, with more than 30 years of professional experience in the field of textiles.
He holds a Doctorate in Industrial Hemp Wet Processing, a Master’s degree in Textile Technology from UPTTI, Kanpur (formerly GCTI), and an MBA in Operations Management.
His areas of specialization include Textile Dyeing, Printing, and Finishing, with a strong focus on sustainable wet processing of natural and sustainable textile materials. He has been actively engaged in research and development in sustainable textile processing, particularly in exploring environmentally responsible approaches for the processing and finishing of natural fabrics.
Dr. Sahi has also been actively involved in the execution of several prestigious projects involving the design and development of uniforms, merchandise, curtains, seat covers, and other textile products for various Government departments, institutions, and industrial organizations.
His professional interests encompass sustainable textile technologies, natural fibres, innovative wet processing, textile product development, and industry-oriented design and research.
