Srrisha is an Assistant Professor and Campus Coordinator in the Department of Fashion & Lifestyle Accessories at the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), Hyderabad, where she is also an alumnus of the Fashion & Lifestyle Accessories program. She teaches undergraduate students and specializes in Design Fundamentals, Design Process, Design Projects & Prototyping for Fashion and Home Accessories, Craft-Based Design Projects, Visual Merchandising, and Fashion Marketing. With 11 years of academic experience and 6 years of industry experience, she blends scholarly expertise with practical insights to provide a holistic perspective in her teaching and coordination roles.
Her research interests include form generation, client analysis, and sustainable design practices, reflecting her commitment to innovation and responsibility in fashion. She contributes to academic development through mentoring student research projects and guiding internships and graduating projects. She actively collaborates with artisans and local communities to integrate craft-based practices into contemporary design education, and her work emphasizes bridging traditional knowledge with modern design methodologies. In addition to her teaching and research, she has pursued professional development through certificate programmes, including the AICTE Training and Learning (ATAL) Academy Online Elementary Faculty Development Program on “Design Aesthetics: Theory and Practice” completed in July 2021.
Beyond her academic and research contributions, Ms. Srrisha engages in outreach activities such as workshops and collaborative projects that promote craft-based design and community engagement. She mentors students to develop professional confidence and creative independence. Her personal interests—photography, travel, and listening to music—enrich her creative outlook and connect to her design sensibilities. These pursuits, combined with her professional memberships and active involvement in design education, present her as a well-rounded educator and creative professional.
