Pavittar Punit Singh Mad?n is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Textile Design at the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), Kangra. He is an alumnus of Dr. B R Ambedkar National Institute of Technology, Jalandhar, and Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar. Before joining academics, he worked with Winsome Textile Industries and Mahavir Spinning Mills (a Vardhman Group Company) for more than two years. He has over six years of teaching experience prior to joining NIFT, Patna, where he served as Resource Centre In-Charge and Centre Coordinator for the Foundation Program.
He completed his PhD at Dr. B R Ambedkar National Institute of Technology, Jalandhar, with research on imparting anti shrink properties to wool using enzymes. He has published three papers on enzymatic treatment of wool, including two in the Indian Journal of Fibre & Textile Research (IJFTR) and one in the AATCC Journal of Research. His academic work spans textile technology and design pedagogy.
His professional interests include weaving traditions, textile design, and curriculum development. He has been involved in mentoring students and academic coordination at NIFT.
