Rajesh Kumar is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Fashion Design at the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), Kangra, Himachal Pradesh. He has extensive experience in fashion design education, garment construction, pattern making, styling, and design development. His teaching and research focus on bridging traditional craftsmanship with contemporary fashion practices, encouraging innovation while preserving India's rich textile and apparel heritage.
He is currently pursuing doctoral research on the traditional Gaddi jacket of Himachal Pradesh, exploring its cultural significance, construction techniques, and potential for revival through contemporary design intervention. His research aims to promote sustainable fashion by documenting indigenous knowledge and developing market-oriented products that support artisan livelihoods while preserving regional identity.
