Divya P R is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Fashion Communication at NIFT Kannur, specialising in graphic design, publication design, branding, semiotics, letterforms, and digital design. She has 10 years of experience and 6 years of industry experience. She completed her Master of Design (M.Des) from NIFT Delhi and brings expertise in visual communication and editorial design.

Her teaching and research interests focus on graphic communication, publication design, branding, semiotics, letterforms, and digital design. Before joining NIFT Kannur, she worked with Dorling Kindersley (DK Books) for six years as part of its team. During this period, she contributed to titles including MasterChef Every Day, US Presidents, Animal Visual Encyclopedia, Baking Step by Step, The Train Book, Weapons, Bird of Australia, Birds of Canada, Birds of North America, and Wildlife of the World. Her industry experience informs her academic engagement with visual storytelling and communication design.

Divya explores the relationship between design, visual language, and communication through teaching and academic practice. She mentors students in developing visual approaches to design projects and encourages experimentation, observation, and clarity in communication.
