About

Dr. Prabhat Kumar is an Assistant Professor in the Fashion and Lifestyle Accessories (F&LA) Design Department at NIFT, Bhopal. He specializes in product design, design methodology, intelligent manufacturing, ergonomics, design decision-making, AI applications in manufacturing, and systems design. Since joining NIFT in 2018, he has taught multidisciplinary design courses, mentored undergraduate students, and coordinated academic activities. At NIFT, he currently serves as the Campus Coordinator of the F&LA Department and the Grievance Redressal Officer. Earlier, he served as the Student Development Activity Coordinator (SDAC) from 2021 to 2023, where he actively supported student development through academic and co-curricular initiatives.

His research interests include artificial intelligence in manufacturing, innovative product design, design decision-making under uncertainty, and multiple-criteria decision-making. He has published research papers in reputed SCIE- and Scopus-indexed international journals. He also contributes to the academic community as a reviewer for leading international journals. He has delivered expert lectures at various institutes and chaired scientific sessions at conferences.

Beyond the classroom, Dr. Kumar is actively involved in curriculum development, industry collaboration, entrepreneurship promotion, and institutional initiatives. He is committed to creating meaningful learning experiences that connect academic knowledge with real-world challenges while encouraging creativity, innovation, and lifelong learning.
