Dhanraj Sopan Survase is an Associate Professor in the Department of Knitwear Design at the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), Mumbai, with over 20 years of teaching experience. He holds an MBA in Operations Management from the University of Jaipur and has four years of industry experience in the apparel sector before joining NIFT.
He has been actively involved in teaching Undergraduate and Postgraduate programmes, specializing in Pattern Making and Garment Construction for Menswear, Womenswear, Kidswear, Sportswear, and Lingerie. As the Subject Anchor for Kidswear and a member of the curriculum development team for selected courses, he has played a key role in curriculum design, academic planning, and the continuous enhancement of teaching and learning outcomes.
In addition to his teaching responsibilities, Prof. Survase has held several academic and administrative leadership positions at NIFT Mumbai. He served as Course Coordinator for the Department of Knitwear Design from 23 June 2011 to 22 July 2014, Student Development and Activity Coordinator from 4 September 2014 to 21 September 2017, and CC In-charge of the Department of Knitwear Design from 1 January 2026 to 30 June 2026. His commitment to academic excellence, curriculum innovation, student mentoring, and institutional development has significantly contributed to advancing fashion education and preparing future professionals in the apparel and knitwear industry.
