Dr. Latika Bhatt is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Textile Design at NIFT Bhopal, bringing over 13 years of experience across research, industry, and academics. She holds a PhD in Textile Chemistry, is NET qualified, and earned a gold medal during her academic studies. Her primary expertise spans sustainability in the textile sector, textile finishes, wellness textiles, nanotechnology, sustainable design,  craft documentation and craft based design projects. Before her current appointment, she worked as a research and development merchandiser, served as a research assistant for government initiatives, and began her teaching career at NIFT Mumbai in 2019.

Her research focuses on sustainable materials and functional finishes. Her doctoral dissertation explored the preparation of nano emulsions for vector-control fabrics. She holds a patent titled "A process for the preparation of mosquito repellent fabric using herbal formulation and composition thereof" and has authored more than 15 papers in prestigious national and international journals. Additionally, she is the recipient of prestigious national and international research fellowships.

Beyond her core instruction, she actively leads and contributes to various national and international projects. She mentors students, supports academic outreach, and engages with the broader community to foster sustainable practices and collaborative innovation within the fashion, craft and  textile sector.
