Rashmi Gulati, Associate Professor at Department of Design Space with over 26 years of experience in design education, research and professional practice. She joined NIFT in October 1995. She teaches undergraduate and Post graduate courses and is the Chairperson of the Department of Design Space, leading the Master of Design programme at the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT). She holds a PhD in Management, and her doctoral research developed a sustainable framework for the arts and crafts sector in Mumbai.
Mr. Sandeep Chandrakant Kidile is an Associate Professor in the Department of Textile Design at the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), Mumbai, India. With extensive experience in textile design education, research, and craft development, his work is dedicated to promoting sustainable practices through the integration of traditional knowledge and contemporary design approaches.
Vinesh Datta Tapre is a faculty in the Department of Fashion Communication, National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), Mumbai. He has nearly two decades of experience in design education and creative practice. His work is focused on visual arts, design pedagogy, material research and trans-disciplinary education. He has done Master of Fine Art in Mural Design from Sir J.J. School of Art, Mumbai and teaches subjects like design principles,design research , visual merchandising, exhibition design and craft studies.
Mr. Somnath Mane is an Assistant Professor in the Fashion & Lifestyle Accessories Department at NIFT Mumbai. With a strong foundation in Fine Arts and over a decade of professional experience spanning creative industries and academia, he specializes in Sketching and Rendering, visualisation, material exploration, design aesthetics, digital design, and experience design. His multidisciplinary expertise includes drawing, painting, sculpture, pottery, metalwork, interior design, and computer graphics.
Ms. Sangita Das Chowdhury is an Assistant Professor in the Knitwear Design Department at the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), Mumbai. With over six years of teaching experience at NIFT, she has been actively involved in fashion education since joining the institute as an ad hoc faculty member in 2019 and becoming a permanent faculty member in 2022. Before her transfer to the Knitwear Design Department in 2025, she served in the Fashion Design Department, where she contributed extensively to academic delivery and curriculum development.
Dr. Lipi Choudhury is an Associate Professor with the Department of Fashion Management Studies at NIFT Mumbai with a teaching expertise in Buying and Planning, Visual Merchandising, Brand Management, Strategic Management and Luxury Marketing. Currently, her areas of research encompass analysing consumer behaviour, digital trends and sustainable consumption. She is an alumnus of MFM programme (AMMM 2002-04) from NIFT Bengaluru. She joined NIFT as a faculty in 2009. Prior to that she was the Head Buyer for Allen Solly Menswear (ABFRL).
Shankhalina Choudhury is an Assistant Professor in the department of Fashion Design NIFT, Mumbai. She teaches courses at the undergraduate level and has guided several master's dissertations. A NIFT alumna with a bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design and master’s degree in Design Research, her areas of interest are ‘Sustainable Design’, ‘Adaptive Clothing’ and ‘Craft and Culture Studies’. She has presented her research at several renowned national and international conferences.
Dr. Sneha Bhatnagar is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Fashion Design at the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), Mumbai. A graduate of NIFT Gandhinagar, she has over 16 years experience in academia and the fashion industry, with expertise in Fashion Forecasting, Fashion and Design History, Surface Ornamentation Techniques, Digital Fashion, Craft Studies, Design Research, and Kidswear Fashion. Since beginning her academic career in 2014, she has been actively engaged in teaching, curriculum development, research, and industry collaborations.
Ms. Namrata Singh is an Assistant Professor in the Textile Design Department at NIFT Mumbai. She joined the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) in 2018 . Prior to her academic career at NIFT, she gained valuable experience working in the craft sector and textile industries.
Dr. Nagma Sahi Ansari, PhD, is a design researcher and academic working at the intersection of Human–Computer Interaction (HCI), human-centred design, immersive technologies, and AI-enabled creative practices. Her research examines how people interact with, make meaning through, and co-create with emerging technologies, with particular interests in human–AI interaction, creativity, identity, co-presence, and socially situated design.
