Dr. Idris Afzal Shah is an Assistant Professor and IT In-Charge at the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), Srinagar, where he also coordinates the Foundation Programme. He specializes in computer science, distributed systems, computer networks, cloud computing, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and emerging technologies. He holds a PhD in Distributed Systems and Networking and an M.Tech. in Energy-Aware Cloud Computing Data Centers.

Dr. Umair Khan is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Fashion Design at the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), Srinagar. He specializes in Pattern Making and Garment Construction for men’s and women’s wear, including textile and leather garments, bags, and fashion accessories. He holds a Ph.D. in Fashion Design with a specialization in Pattern Making. He is an alumnus of NIFT Delhi and also holds a Diploma in Pattern Engineering from TUKA Academy of Pattern Engineering, Gurugram, along with Master’s degrees in Fashion Design and History.

Mr. Vijay Kant Verma is an assistant professor in the Department of Fashion Communication and serves as the Campus Academic Coordinator (CAC) for the Srinagar campus. He holds an M.Tech. degree in Computer Science & Engineering from ABV-Indian Institute of Information Technology. His expertise lies in virtual reality and augmented reality-based immersive media design, web design, UI/UX experience design, artificial intelligence, and 3D modeling. He is presently pursuing a Ph.D. focused on high-fidelity 3D model generation.
Dr. Yaseer is an Assistant Professor in the Fashion Management Studies Department at NIFT Srinagar. He teaches at both the postgraduate and undergraduate levels in addition to supervising research scholars. Dr. Yaseer has done his doctorate in Branding of Kashmir Pashmina. His research interests include marketing, consumer behaviour, and handicraft development.Over the last 15 years, Dr. Yaseer has coordinated various projects meant for the development of handicraft and handloom sector. Mr. Shashi Ranjan is an Assistant Professor in the Fashion Communication Department at NIFT Srinagar, which he joined in 2021. He holds a Master of Design from The M. S. University of Baroda and a Bachelor of Design from NIFT Mumbai, and is currently a Ph.D. candidate at The M. S. University of Baroda. Before his academic career, Shashi spent five years working in the Fashion and E-commerce industry and taught Graphic Design and Photography at the Institute of Fashion Technology, Vadodara.
Mohammed Javed Jamal is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Fashion Communication at the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), Srinagar, where he also serves as the IDL Coordinator and Coordinator for Continuing Education (CE) Programs. With over 11 years of combined industry and academic experience, he specializes in animation, visual communication, filmmaking, branding, and digital media.
Dr. Ravinder Kataria is an Assistant Professor at the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), Srinagar. He joined NIFT in 2022 and has over 15 years of combined academic, research, and industry experience. He teaches undergraduate and postgraduate courses while actively contributing to curriculum development, student mentoring, industry collaboration, and academic administration. Before joining NIFT, he served as an Associate Professor at Lovely Professional University. He received his Ph.D. and M.Tech.
Dr. Deepti Pargai is a Assistant professor of Textile Design and specilizes in Natural dyeing and natural fibers .She teaches surface design and traditional textile as well as in ovation in textiles related subjects. She is UGC NET qualified
Jahnavi Gummapu is an Assistant Professor in the Fashion Design Department at the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), Srinagar. Her areas of expertise include fashion design, textile design, surface ornamentation, Indian crafts, craft-based design, and design education. She has professional experience in fashion curation, teaching, and design development. Her research interests focus on Indian crafts, traditional textile practices, craft communities, and the integration of traditional knowledge with contemporary design approaches.
Ms. Ikra Syed is an architect and academic currently serving as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Fashion and Lifestyle Accessory. With a strong foundation in architecture, she brings interdisciplinary expertise in design process, user-centric and socially responsive design, spatial and environmental design, and lifestyle product design. Previously, she served in the Department of Fashion Communication, contributing to areas including space design, design strategy, and systems thinking.
