Mrs. Habeebunissa is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Knitwear Design at NIFT Chennai, with 23 years of academic experience, including 16 years at NIFT. She holds an M.Sc. and M.Phil. in Textiles and Clothing. Her expertise includes knitwear design, natural dyeing, eco-printing, textile processing, research methodology, quality assurance and functional textiles. She also served as Co-coordinator of a design consultancy project for Rope Enterprises, involving the design and sampling of the Kambl brand’s inaugural range using Gongadi, an indigenous textile of the Deccan region.

Associate Professor at NIFT Since 2008. From 2004 to 2008, Worked as Guest Faculty Member. Worked as ARTIST/SENIOR DESIGN ASSISTANT at RELIANCE INDUSTRIES LTD., TEXTILE DIVISION, AHMEDABAD, GUJARAT from 1994 to 1998. 1989 to 1994 & 1994 to 2008, practiced as a FREELANCE DESIGNER. During this period catered to various private and Govt. Sector concerns. Specialised in various types of designs, catering to domestic as well as Foreign requirements.

An accomplished Associate Professor of Leather Design at NIFT since 2012, Sankara Narayanan brings over 25 years of extensive professional experience spanning diverse domains across design, management, and hospitality. His multidisciplinary academic portfolio encompasses a Bachelor’s degree in Physics, a Postgraduate Diploma in Leather Design from NIFT New Delhi, subsequently bridged to an M.Des in 2010, and a Postgraduate Programme in Business Management from K.J. Somaiya Institute of Management and Research, Mumbai.

Prof. Dr. M. Aravendan is a Professor of Design in the Department of Leather Design at NIFT Chennai and serves as Head of Continuing Education, Diploma and Bridge Programmes at NIFT Headquarters. He brings over three decades of professional experience in design, technology, management, leather and footwear industries, and design education.

Dr. Kaustav SenGupta is a futurist, colour bio-behaviour expert, Gen AI expert, forecaster, brand strategist and design educator with over 25 years of experience across industry, academia and government.

Mr. P. Senthil Nathan is an Associate Professor in the Department of Leather Design at the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), Chennai, with over 21 years of teaching experience. He joined NIFT Chennai in 2005 and has also served in the Department of Fashion and Lifestyle Accessories and as Centre Coordinator for both departments. He holds a Master of Design (M.Des.) and specializes in Leather Garments and Product Design and Technology, pattern making, form development, 2D and 3D visualization, digital graphics, and photography.

T. P. Balachandar is a faculty member in the Leather Design Department and currently serves as the Campus Coordinator. He holds an undergraduate degree in Leather Technology and a postgraduate degree in Footwear Science and Engineering. He brings extensive professional experience from the leather and footwear industry, where he worked for 14 years in various roles and levels. He joined NIFT in 2014 and has around twelve years of experience as a faculty member.

Dr. Subashini J. Samuel is an Assistant Professor at the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), Chennai, with 22 years of professional and academic experience in fashion education, design innovation, research, and industry practices. Her primary areas of expertise include Knitwear Design, Lingerie Design, Textiles and Apparel Design, fashion education, and sustainable fashion. She teaches undergraduate, postgraduate, and diploma-level students and contributes to curriculum development, student mentoring, design development, and industry-oriented academic activities.

Prof. Dr. P. Mohanraj is a Professor and Chairperson of Knitwear Design at the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT). He has extensive professional and academic experience in textile and apparel education, industry, research, and academic administration. His core expertise includes knitwear design and technology, circular and flat knitting, apparel product development, fashion merchandising, sustainability, and innovative textile applications.
