I am currently working as a Textile Designer at Karomi Crafts and Textiles, where I design handloom Jamdani textiles and Kantha embroidery products while working closely with artisan communities across Bengal. My role involves developing contemporary designs rooted in traditional craftsmanship and supporting the preservation of handloom and handmade textile practices.

My foundation in textiles was built at NIFT Shillong, where learning extended far beyond the classroom. Studying the textile traditions of India and experiencing the rich cultural landscape of the North East broadened my understanding of craft, material, and design. The encouragement and guidance of faculty members helped me develop my identity as a textile designer, while my growing interest in craft influenced the direction of my career.

This passion led me to intern at Ratan Jaipur, where I gained valuable insights into textile development, production processes, and design execution. I later completed my graduation project at Karomi Crafts and Textiles, working extensively with Jamdani weaving and Kantha embroidery. The experience deepened my appreciation for artisanship and strengthened my commitment to craft-based design.

Today, alongside my work at Karomi, I contribute to artisan training, skill development, and handloom promotion initiatives through collaborations with Meghalayan Age Limited, continuing a journey rooted in craft, learning, and meaningful social impact.
