Dr. Gargee Bhattacharjee

Dr. Gargee Bhattacharjee is an assistant professor in the Textile Design Department at the National Institute of Fashion Technology, Kangra, Himachal Pradesh. With a background in visual arts and textile design, she has more than fifteen years of experience working in craft, design, and academia. Her ethnographic research on the tribal textiles of Assam earned her fellowships from the Ministry of Culture and Sahapedia-UNESCO. She has expertise in working with craft communities, tribal communities, women's groups and team building for livelihood generation.

Dr. Harish Kumar Banga

Dr. Harish Kumar Banga is an Assistant Professor of Fashion and Lifestyle Accessory (BDes) and specialises in 3D printing, Robotics, Advanced Manufacturing Techniques, and CAD/CAM. He teaches undergraduate and postgraduate courses and leads research in Product design and Manufacturing. He joined the university in 2021. He received her PhD from PEC Chandigarh.

Mr. Anil Kumar Tirkey

Mr Anil Kumar Tirkey is a Professor of F&LA at NIFT Kangra and is also the CC of the Department. He has previously served as CC – Foundation Programme and CIC (Crafts). An alumnus of NIFT Gandhinagar (Accessory Design, 2004), following with a diverse experience in the Jewellery Industry for 4 years as a Designer, Merchandiser, and Product Development; in the Product design domain for 4 years in Lifestyle Products and furniture (Handcrafted in Leather, wood, and Metal), in Visual Merchandising, Window Displays and Branding, In-store Planning & layouts.

Ms. Maulshree

A biophile, bibliophile and ever a student, Maulshree is an aspiring educationist exploring the interconnectedness of the world around us and the sensorial dimensions of human experience. An Assistant Professor at NIFT Kangra, she graduated from NIFT Delhi and completed her Master of Research at the London College of Communication (UAL). She brings professional experience in retail design and branding and specializes in areas of systems thinking, design thinking, design research, sustainability and branding.

Deeksha Gulati

My journey into textiles began at NIFT Kangra, where a strong foundation was built in textile science, garment construction, and manufacturing. A semester exchange at ENSAIT in Lille, France, sparked a curiosity for global fashion and product development, inspiring an international outlook on the industry. Later, completing a Master’s in Business in Paris further strengthened understanding of strategy, leadership, and the commercial side of fashion.

Block print collection- HELD IN LINES - This block print collection explores the transformation of organic floral forms into refined, graphic compositions by simplifying natural botanicals into cleaner, more controlled shapes. Instead of realistic representation, the florals are abstracted to retain their essence while gaining clarity and structure. Linear elements act as guiding frameworks, intersecting and organizing the forms to create rhythm and alignment, resulting in designs where organic motifs meet a disciplined, contemporary graphic language.

Feeling First Kit — Socio-Emotional Learning in ECCE

Feeling First is a research-driven experience design project exploring how emotional regulation can be supported among children aged 3–6 within Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) classrooms.
The project began with a broad investigation of socio-emotional learning, early childhood development and existing SEL frameworks before narrowing its focus towards emotion regulation and co-regulation.
Secondary research examined academic literature, frameworks, interventions and case studies related to early childhood emotional development.
